How do I call a customer with translation enabled?
Open Browser Call in TalkTool, choose You Speak and They Speak, enter the customer’s number, and turn on Start translating immediately before selecting Start Call. The customer answers a regular phone call.
Step-by-step instructions
Open Browser Call
Sign in and select Browser Call from the dashboard sidebar. Allow microphone access and confirm your audio device is ready.
Select both languages
Set You Speak to your language and They Speak to the customer’s language. For example, choose English and Spanish for an English-speaking employee calling a Spanish-speaking customer.
Enter the customer’s number
Choose the destination country and enter the customer’s phone number under Number to call. Check the country code and destination before dialing.
Enable translation before starting
Make sure Start translating immediately is on, then select Start Call. The customer receives a phone call; they do not need to open TalkTool.
Talk and review the conversation
Introduce yourself, explain that translation is enabled, and pause between short thoughts. Follow the bilingual transcript when available. Select End when finished; saved transcripts appear in Calls when enabled for your organization.
A practical example
You need to confirm an appointment with a Spanish-speaking customer. Choose English under You Speak and Spanish under They Speak, enable translation, and call their normal phone number.
Common questions
How is this different from phone dial-out?
Browser Call uses your computer’s microphone and dashboard. Phone dial-out starts by calling your TalkTool line from a mobile or desk phone, then entering the customer’s number.
Can I call any country?
Availability depends on your account, destination and number restrictions. Check the destination and any displayed rate or calling restriction before placing the call.
Can I read the translation while speaking?
The dashboard shows a bilingual transcript during supported calls. Saved transcript availability depends on your organization’s settings.
