    Open the side panel — it signs you in with your existing TalkTool web session — and choose the language you speak and the language your caller speaks.

Compatibility

Works with the phone system you already use

The interpreter bridges in over the phone, so it doesn't matter what you call with — if your platform can add a line to an active call, TalkTool works.

Use your softphone's normal Add Call or Merge to bring the TalkTool number into the conversation. The AI interpreter joins as a third leg and starts translating both directions — you hear your language, your caller hears theirs. Because it's a phone bridge, there's nothing to install on your phone system and nothing for the other party to download.

Is the Chrome extension free?
The extension is free to install. You'll need a TalkTool account to use it, and interpreter usage is billed by the minute — see our pricing page for current rates.
Which phone systems does it work with?
Any calling platform that lets you add a line to an active call, including RingCentral, Dialpad, and Zoom Phone, plus most softphones and desk phones. The interpreter joins over the phone, so there's nothing to change in your phone system.
Does the person I'm calling need anything?
No. They answer a normal phone call and hear a natural-sounding voice speaking their language. There's nothing to install on their end — landline, mobile, or VoIP all work.
What languages are supported?
60+ languages including Spanish, Mandarin Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Tagalog, Arabic, Russian, Portuguese, French, German, Hindi, and many more — selectable per call.
What is type-to-speak?
When a word is hard for speech recognition to catch — a name, a place, a medication — you type it and TalkTool speaks a clean translation to your caller, so the important details land correctly.
How do I sign in to the panel?
The panel reuses your existing TalkTool web session. If you're signed in to usetalktool.com, you're signed in to the panel — there's no second login.

Chrome and Chromium-based browsers such as Microsoft Edge. It's a standard Chrome side-panel (Manifest V3) extension.
