At a glance

  • Use Ringover's Call / Add Call (or 'Ask First') control to dial TalkTool's number
  • Enter org code + #, then the two-digit language code

Add a live interpreter to a Ringover call

  1. 1

Get your TalkTool number and org code

Create a TalkTool account to receive your conference dial-in number and your organization code. You'll enter the org code each time you bring the interpreter onto a Ringover call, so save both somewhere your Ringover agents can reach them quickly.

    • Pin the number and org code in a Ringover internal note or your team wiki
    • The same org code works for every agent and every Ringover line
    • Keep TalkTool's two-digit language code list handy at the desk
  2. 2

Start or take the call in Ringover, then add a line

Place or answer the call on your Ringover web app, desktop app, mobile app, or a connected deskphone as usual. When you're ready for the interpreter, use Ringover's in-call Call / Add Call control to open a second line and dial your TalkTool conference number, then merge it into the call.

    • If your customer is already connected, you'll merge TalkTool into the existing call
    • You can also use Ringover's 'Ask First' warm-transfer control the same way
    • Let the customer know an interpreter is joining so they aren't surprised by the brief setup
  3. 3

Enter your org code, then #

TalkTool answers on the new line and asks for your organization code. Key it in on the Ringover dialpad and press # to confirm. This tells TalkTool which account the call belongs to.

    • Use the in-call keypad in the Ringover app to send the digits
    • If entry fails, re-open the keypad and re-enter the code, then #
    • The org code stays the same for every call your team makes
  4. 4

Choose the language, then dial out or merge

Enter the two-digit code for the other person's language (for example, 01 for Spanish). Then press 1 to have TalkTool dial your customer, or press 2 if they're already on the Ringover line with you.

    • Press 2 for inbound calls where the customer is already connected
    • Press 1 to have TalkTool place the outbound leg to your customer
    • Keep the language code cheat sheet near every Ringover seat
  5. 5

Talk normally while the AI interprets

Once everyone is on, speak naturally. The AI interpreter relays each side in the other person's language within a second or two. When you hang up in Ringover, a two-language transcript and an AI summary land in your TalkTool dashboard.

    • Speak in short, complete sentences and pause for the relay
    • Billing is a flat $0.30/min for the interpreted portion only
    • Review the saved transcript and summary later for notes or QA

Why add TalkTool to Ringover calls

Live AI translation on the calls you already make — nothing to install.

Works with your existing Ringover setup

TalkTool joins over the phone network, so it works on your Ringover web app, desktop app, mobile app, or connected deskphone with nothing to install and no marketplace app to enable.

60+ languages on demand

Pick the other person's language with a two-digit code at the start of the call. Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Haitian Creole, Arabic and 55+ more are ready instantly.

Live, two-way interpretation

The AI listens to both sides and speaks each person's words in the other's language with about a one-to-two-second delay, so the Ringover conversation keeps flowing.

Flat $0.30 per minute

Usage is measured from call duration, including both participants’ speaking time. Included plan minutes are used before prepaid minutes; additional usage is $0.30 per minute. A total of 20 billable minutes costs $6 before any included allowance.

No app for your customer

The person on the other end of the Ringover call needs no download and no setup. They stay on the ordinary call and hear a natural-sounding voice in their own language.

Transcript and summary after every call

When the Ringover call ends, a two-language transcript and an AI summary are saved to your TalkTool dashboard for notes, follow-up, and QA.

Ringover gives your team a flexible cloud phone system across web, mobile, and deskphones. TalkTool adds the one thing it doesn't do on its own: live, two-way interpretation in 60+ languages, conferenced into any call for a flat $0.30 per minute.

How TalkTool works on a Ringover call

Ringover already lets you bring a third party onto a live call with its in-call Call / Add Call control, which starts a three-way conference, and you can warm-transfer with the Ask First control to consult someone before merging. TalkTool uses that exact mechanism. Instead of dialing a colleague, you dial TalkTool's conference number, and the AI interpreter becomes the third party on the line.

Once connected, TalkTool walks you through three quick keypad prompts: your org code followed by #, the two-digit code for the other person's language, then 1 to have TalkTool dial your customer or 2 if they're already on the call with you. After that, everyone just talks. The interpreter relays each side in the other person's language with about a one-to-two-second delay. You can read the full walkthrough on how to conference in an AI interpreter.

Because all of this happens over the phone network, there's no Ringover marketplace app, plugin, or API connector to install. TalkTool sits alongside whatever Ringover plan, routing, and devices you already run.

AI interpreter vs. a human phone interpreter

Traditional over-the-phone interpretation means putting your customer on hold, dialing a vendor line, waiting in a routing queue, and briefing a human before you can continue. TalkTool connects instantly, is available around the clock, and keeps the conversation to two people instead of three. There's no hold music and no middleman interrupting the flow.

Who at a Ringover shop benefits most

Ringover is popular with sales teams, support desks, BPOs, and growing SMBs that want a software-first phone system. Any of those teams that field calls from non-English speakers gains the most from TalkTool.

Picture an inside-sales rep on Ringover who gets a Spanish-speaking lead, a support agent handling a Vietnamese-speaking customer's billing question, or a property-management office returning calls to Haitian Creole tenants. In each case the agent adds TalkTool to the existing Ringover call, picks the language, and keeps going, without escalating to a bilingual colleague or scheduling a human interpreter.

Ringover translation FAQ

Does TalkTool integrate with Ringover?
There's no native integration to set up, and you don't need one. TalkTool joins your call over the regular phone network, so it works with Ringover exactly the way it works with any phone system. You simply use Ringover's Call / Add Call conference control (or the 'Ask First' warm transfer) to dial TalkTool's conference number and follow the voice prompts. Because it isn't a marketplace app or API connector, there's nothing to install in your Ringover account, and it keeps working no matter how your Ringover plan or routing changes.
How much does it cost?
Usage is measured from call duration, including both participants’ speaking time. Included plan minutes are used before prepaid minutes; additional usage is $0.30 per minute. A total of 20 billable minutes costs $6 before any included allowance.
Which languages are supported?
TalkTool covers 60+ languages, including Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Korean, Arabic, Russian, Portuguese, French, Haitian Creole, Somali and many more. You select the other person's language with a two-digit code right after you dial in, so any Ringover agent can switch languages call to call without changing anything in their setup.
Do my customers need an app?
No. Your customer needs no app, no download, and no account. They stay on the same phone call they're already on and simply hear a natural-sounding voice speaking their language. Everything on the AI interpreter side runs through the call you started in Ringover.
Is an AI interpreter as good as a human interpreter?
For everyday business calls, scheduling, support, sales, billing, and updates, the AI interpreter is fast, accurate, and available 24/7 with no hold queue and no third person on the line. It translates both directions in about a second or two. For situations that legally require a certified human interpreter, such as certain medical or legal proceedings, a credentialed human is still the right choice. Many Ringover teams use TalkTool for the bulk of their multilingual calls and reserve human interpreters for the few that require certification.
Can I use TalkTool from the Ringover mobile app or a deskphone?
Yes. Because TalkTool works over the phone, it doesn't matter which Ringover surface you're on. Whether you're on the Ringover desktop or web softphone, the mobile app, or a connected deskphone, you add a line to TalkTool's number and enter the prompts on the in-call keypad. The flow is identical everywhere.
Does it work for both inbound and outbound Ringover calls?
Yes. On an outbound call, dial TalkTool first or add it once your customer answers, then press 1 to have TalkTool place the leg to your customer. On an inbound Ringover call where the customer is already connected, add TalkTool to the existing call and press 2 to merge the interpreter into the live conversation.
What happens to the call recording and notes?
After the Ringover call ends, TalkTool saves a two-language transcript and an AI summary in your dashboard. That's separate from any call recording you keep in Ringover, so you get a written, bilingual record of what was actually said in each language for follow-up, handoffs, or quality review.

Your next conversation can speak their language.
