What goes into an over-the-phone interpretation quote
- 1
Confirm the billable unit
Ask whether charging starts at connection, includes waiting, or rounds to a minimum increment. Compare the same definition of usage across providers.
- Request the unit in writing
- Check rounding and minimum call charges
- 2
Ask about commitments
Confirm whether your quote includes a term, monthly minimum or prepaid commitment; do not assume every provider has the same terms.
- Check renewal and cancellation
- Separate recurring fees from usage
- 3
Include the full scope
Ask about setup, additional call legs, platform access, recordings and the languages you need.
- Use your actual language mix
- Include expected monthly volume
- 4
Compare service requirements
Consider interpreter qualifications, quality review, caller needs and your requirements alongside cost.
- Test representative calls
- Keep a suitable escalation path
How TalkTool's pricing compares
Compare the monthly fee, included allowance and additional usage for your required call setup.
Published usage pricing
Usage is measured from call duration, including both participants’ speaking time. Included plan minutes are used before prepaid minutes; additional usage is $0.30 per minute. A total of 20 billable minutes costs $6 before any included allowance.
Incoming calls on a paid plan
Incoming call translation, dedicated numbers, translated voicemail and multilingual IVR require a paid plan. Starter includes 300 minutes and two dedicated numbers for $149/month.

AI translation with limits
AI translation can make mistakes. Confirm names, numbers and important details, and use a qualified human interpreter when the situation requires one.
Spoken turns
Translation follows each spoken turn. Response time varies with speech length, language and network conditions.
Call records by plan
Starter includes AI call summaries; Growth and Scale list full call transcripts. Check your plan and review AI-generated records for errors.
